Throughout March BAMcinématek celebrates Deneuve, the French actress so beautiful and iconic she only needs one name. This weekend, we saw Belle de Jour, in which she plays a bored housewife who becomes a high-class prostitute as a way of acting out her masochistic fantasies. Not the greatest movie to munch popcorn through, true, but searing and captivating all the same.
