Wild Turkey in Central Park

Stepping out of the Ramble in Central Park today, we encountered this wild turkey, who was as curious about us as we were about her. She strutted and posed and fluffed herself, placid even in the face of a stunned labrador retriever. But when she finally did take off into the brush, she did so in a hurry.

Wow! You need to send that in the newspaper! I have been in Central Park 5X a week for 17 years, I have enever seen a turkey, had no idea we had them! I'll bet alot of other people don't either!

That picture just makes me laugh! I live in Pittsburgh and, on Thanksgiving no less, I looked out my front window and there were, no kidding, 10-12 wild turkeys walking down my street. I've never seen anything like it! There are never turkeys around!

I grabbed my camera, tried to put it together (its a DSLR), and got outside to take a picture of these turkeys (now) running down my street...as if they were running from someone's table.
