High Bridge

The oldest bridge in all five boroughs, High Bridge connects Washington Heights, in Manhattan, to the Highbridge section of the Bronx. It opened this summer after a 40-year descent into disrepair, and immediately earned comparisons to another popular elevated pedestrian walkway, the High Line. Here, though, you'll encounter far fewer crowds and far more jet skis and speed boats.
