Taim
Taim serves the best falafel in New York, not so surprising when you consider that the chef/owners cut their teeth at Bouley, among other five-star kitchens, or the name, which means "tasty" in Hebrew. At just 300 square feet, including the kitchen, this West Village spot doesn't encourage lingering, so we always get the mixed falafel to go. It comes with Israeli salad (tomatoes and cukes), hummus with tahini and oil, and tabbouleh, along with a choice of bread, drizzled with oil and sesame seeds (and, yes, we got some of both on our camera as we leaned in to take the shot).
And, of course, the falafel. The falafel! Three types, each with its own coloring and flavoring: green (cilantro, parsley, mint), sweet red (roasted red peppers), and spicy yellow (harissa and garlic). But every one is a two-bite bit of goodness.
