Sam Taylor-Wood at the Brooklyn Museum

In 2008, photographer Sam Taylor-Wood shot the melancholy Yorkshire Moors, once home to Heathcliff and Catherine. The resulting prints, on view at the Sackler Center for Feminist Art, show the dire, punishing landscape familiar to anyone who's read the book --- and may make the perfect antidote if marketing for Valentine's Day simply becomes too saccharine.

Valentine Day's marketing - one of the things I cannot get used to, those horrible combinations of red and pink, like eating too many sweets, plus a cup of hot chocolate from Grom. Makes one long for the Easter colors ...and some pickles.

And I'll make a note of this photo show.
