Scenes from Hurricane Irene

The peak of Hurricane Irene, August 28th, 2011

While we don't love hurricanes, obviously, or take any pleasure in the damage they cause, we did love the mingled sense of camaraderie and skepticism in the days leading up to the storm, and the relieved scoffing that took place today when Irene turned out to be kind of a dud. Also, some of the streets looked cool deserted and flooded. As for the old saw about animals' keen perception of extreme natural phenomena, well, you can see for yourself how Allo fared. The picture at the bottom shows the peak of her excitement, which was when we brought the hurricake out of the oven. Hope everyone fared well!
