The Mysterious Bookshop

News last week that Partners & Crime is closing in mid-September, after 18 years in Greenwich Village, made our recent visit to Tribeca's Mysterious Bookshop all the more poignant. As a man chattered on his cell and sprawled on the store's leather couch, we walked around the stacks and even climbed the ladder for a Boris Akunin paperback. You can't climb a ladder online, people. And while we will always be partial to our favorite ramshackle bookstore, we're glad that there's still another store in this city selling all, and only, mysteries. For now.
