La Gran Uruguaya

Competition at La Gran Uruguaya is fierce: what's bigger? The flavors on offer at this bakery in Jackson Heights, or the crowds waiting to order? While Spanish is preferred, pointing at what you want in the bake case works just as well. In our case, that meant a coconut caramel macaron (top) and a lovely little manetquilla con crema, like a croissant and custard sandwich.
