Wild Parrots in Brooklyn

Last weekend we went on safari to see one of the colonies of Quaker parrots that has set up shop in Brooklyn. According to Steve Baldwin, who leads monthly walks to visit the colonies, the birds probably escaped from JFK airport in the late 1960s (originally from Argentina, they were destined for pet stores). Like so many immigrants before and after, they've found a home in New York.
