
The
Drawing Center, in Soho, is currently featuring drawings by
Gerhard Richter. We preferred the pieces that most resembled his paintings, such as the red splash above, done in 1984, or a series of boxes with gray scribbles, meant to depict changing points at which sky meets sea. But half the fun of looking at these drawings is trying to separate the serious work from the
doodles that seem to have snuck in somehow.
