Dyker Heights Christmas Lights

Merry Christmas, ConEd!

For eleven months of the year, Dyker Heights sits stolid and suburban in a part of Brooklyn most non-residents would have no reason to visit. Then, come December, it explodes into a Christmas phantasmagoria. We dare you to go and not get possessed by the holiday spirit. (Can't stop contemplating these people's electric bills? More photos here.)

Awesome pictures! We were there on Saturday night and were blow away. Was our first visit to Dyker Heights.

And yes, I totally got into the Christmas spirit when I saw all the lights and people!

it seems like maybe you took more photos in one night in dyker heights than 3 weeks in india!
@Shawn Hoke: Thanks. We were there on Saturday too -- sometime we'll have to be in the same place at the same time but know about it first.

@Howard: Yeah, we took a lot there, though the disparity has more to do with the formidable nature of sorting through 3,000 India pictures. Happy Hanukkah!
oh my ...I almost took the Brooklyn and Cannoli tour this month with a local bus company to see this...sorry I didn't. They couldn't get enough people..could u imagine?? Great photos and such awesome work by the people who live in dyker heights! Thanx for the pix!!
Wow, that is hard to believe -- we saw one of the bus tours when we were there and it was packed. You should definitely try to get out there one of these year: it's a pretty incredible sight. And lots of good cannoli there and in nearby Bensonhurst.
