Dive in the Park Avenue Tunnel

Part of this year's Summer Streets program, Jana Winderen's sound installation "Dive" turned the Park Avenue Tunnel into a seven-block-long aural seascape. As you walked through the tunnel, the sounds of the street gave way to the sometimes eerie, sometimes silly, always transporting sounds of undersea life, recorded by hydrophones around the world, reminding you of the watery world from whence we came.
