Big Apple Barbecue Block Party



For two days in June, the area around Madison Square Park becomes a smokey, hickory-infused, carnivore's paradise. Started by Danny Meyer, the annual Big Apple Barbecue is now in its seventh year, featuring pitmasters from across the country.








We like to go early, for BBQ Brunch, to beat the hungry hordes. But with the exception of Floyd Cardoz's version of elotes and some cole slaw, pickins were slim for the vegetarian half of whrtny. The pig-lovin half, however, relished every second.
