The Putting Lot

The back story for this project reads like a fairy tale: concerned about the (urban) environment, a group of friends got together, solicited proposals on the theme of sustainability, found a vacant lot in an industrial section of Brooklyn, and worked out a plan. Each artist got a stipend to use in the construction of his/her/their hole, which needed to incorporate recycled materials as much as possible. Friends recruited friends, permits were filed and landlords appeased, clubs and balls were purchased, and viola: The Putting Lot, an art installation and environmental statement--cum--mini golf course.

Lucky for us, the rules dictate a six-stroke cap per hole. Let's just say we each finished an amount over par in direct proportion to the number of years it had been since we'd last played mini golf.
