Pretty Poison at Film Forum

Now screening at Film Forum, this creeptacular movie stars Anthony Perkins as Dennis Pitt, recently released from a mental institution for having accidentally on purpose set his aunt on fire at age 15. He meets gorgeous Tuesday Weld at a hotdog stand, and sparks fly. Like Badlands without the lyrical beauty, or Bonnie & Clyde without the gun fights, Pretty Poison offers up a dark take on the psychedelic psychosis at work in bored teenagers living in small American towns, waiting for something, anything, to give them a thrill. It also contains the line, "I foolishly performed an abortion on a peach tree."
