Sergimmo Salumeria
Well, dear readers, we're a little conflicted, truth be told. Last week we told you that Court Street Grocers served the best sandwiches in the city. Today we want to talk about those on offer at Sergimmo Salumeria, practically across the street from the Bolt Bus, Mega Bus, etc. sidewalk-cum-loading dock. Can we rave about the abuzzo and the marche without seeming two-faced?
Many years ago, in the early days of our relationship, we lived in separate apartments. When it became clear that we were essentially both living in both apartments, we nicknamed them "the summer house" and "the winter house." So that's what we'd like to do here: Court Street can be the winter house, as those hearty slabs won't work in the humidity of the summer months. And we'll save Sergimmo for the summer, when the cured, salty pork products couple perfectly with artichokes or mozzarella, everything spritzed with olive oil and shoved onto fresh country white.
Unless, of course, the two sandwich shops want to follow our lead and just move in together already?
