Apiary
For our second Restaurant Week outing, we tried Apiary. Every table was taken on a Sunday night, with college students out for a splurge, elderly out for a bargain, and, curiously, a father and son with a woman all dolled up in cleavage, bow-tie, and top hat. Hey, no judgments.
We can, however, judge the food, which was largely fine --- and only fine --- with one exception: the roasted chicken. Yes, it's simple, and yes it's probably not worth what the total meal cost. But when roasted chicken is good, it's hearty and filling and warming, an excellent ending to a brutally cold weekend.
Our desserts --- blackberry "financier" (a whole-grain tart) and vanilla panna cotta with raspberries --- weren't so bad either.
