Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodles

Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodles

We love a restaurant that lives up to its name. The noodles here are indeed hand-pulled, as we heard the whomp-whomp-whomp of the gentleman in the kitchen, and they are tasty, as we learned when sampling a thin variety with duck, a thicker variety with shrimp, and a round variety with veggies. All fell off our chopsticks, forcing us to lean forward and simply slurp; all were infused with a vinegary tang, like what you always want the greasy lo mein from your local takeout place to be. These were easily some of the best things we've eaten recently, as our near-constant cravings and if-they-can-put-a-man-on-the-moon-why-can't-they-make-a-photo-that-allows-us-to-eat-it musings have reminded us.

the one with veggies looks like shaved noodles. any chance that it's actually vegetarian?
Hard to say. While there were a lot of veggie options on the menu, it's not the kind of place that strictly regulates which types of food go in which pans. It sure was good, though.

@Howard - the first photo's starch is called 'nain go' (kind of like the mochi appetizer at a Korean restaurant) and yes, it does seems to be vegetarian or at least you can request it to be.
Thanks, Kim. Good to know. Love your blog, by the way!
