2001: A Space Odyssey at IFC Center

This is the time of year when we reflect on the past and look to the future, making winter the perfect season to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey. Stanley Kubrick's mind-bending meditation on cosmic evolution begs to be seen in a theater, where its grand scope can be fully appreciated, and IFC Center obliges with a DCP projection so crisp and clear you'd think the movie was made this year were it not for the straight-out-of-the-60s vision of future clothes and decor. You can see it through January 7th, assuming HAL lets you. (Double your pleasure by catching Her, another beautifully shot movie about what it means to be human, as well.)
